Available Roles

Production and Marketing Assistant

The Production and Marketing Assistant will support all aspects of OVO’s work, with a particular focus on production management and marketing.

This is an entry level role which will provide an amazing grounding in all areas of theatre, from the creation and marketing of shows to the longer term strategic development of a rapidly growing theatre production and venue management company.

We are looking for someone who wants to build a career in theatre. We are focused on identifying potential rather than expecting loads of prior experience or academic or professional qualifications, recognising that getting a start in our industry is very challenging.

Most important to us is that we appoint someone who can demonstrate strong alignment and affinity with our culture and values.

232 days per annum | National Living Wage

The closing date for applications is 09:00 on Monday 16th March 2026.

Venue Manager

The Venue Manager is responsible for the successful operation of all three permanent OVO venues – the Roman Theatre of Verulamium, The Maltings Theatre and the new barn theatre, currently in development and expected to open in late 2026 / early 2027.

They also oversee our Christmas pop up venues (Vintry Garden, St Albans, and British Schools Museum, Hitchin in 2025).

They ensure that our venues are welcoming spaces for audiences, performers, creatives and hirers, and that they are managed in a way that supports the creation and presentation of high quality theatre productions.

They are the public face of our venues, acting as the main point of liaison with visiting companies, hirers, OVO’s in house production teams and landlords.

232 days per annum | £142 per day

WORK EXPERIENCE

As a small team, we unfortunately don’t have the capacity to offer structured or long-term work experience placements.

However, we do occasionally have limited opportunities for front-of-house work experience during our productions. These roles are open to applicants aged 16 and over only, and are best suited to those looking to gain a brief insight into working in a customer experience role within a live theatre environment.
